Mailbag: What’s ‘hope’ worth to you?

My article The "three billion women" argument gets a surprising amount of traffic. Its message is not often appreciated, though, just like it was the case with ‘Mircea Enache’, who wrote:

So what's your point with this article Aaron ?
To have a pessimistic view about getting laid and shouldn't even bother approaching ?
At least when you hear there are 3 billion girls it gives you hope ... it doesn't matter if it's real or not .
Knowing the real truth doesn't even motivate me to approach anymore ... it means I rather make a lot of money in order to move from one city to another ... and that's just stupid.

Spoken like a true moron, I’m tempted to say. I don’t think I’m a pessimistic person at all. If anything, I’m a realist. Further, I detest sugarcoating things to make them more easily digestible. As a society, we’re quite bad at being truthful. Instead, we’re getting bullshitted left, right, and center. Women are being told that their “inner beauty” counts, despite the fact that if she doesn’t look appealing, she will never be able to demonstrate how great her personality is (which often isn’t so great to begin with), or think of the “cock size doesn’t matter” nonsense guys get told.

There just aren’t three billion available women out there. If anything, the belief that there is a plethora of women does more harm than good. Remember PUA stories of yore where guys were approaching so many women that they managed to became known in the area? How’s that supposed to happen if they only hit on 2,000 out of three billion women? Well, refer to my old article to get the answer.

“Hope” based on absurd claims will do much more harm than good. In the case of pickup, it may make you wrongly believe that there are so many women out there that it doesn’t matter how many you approach because “there are always more where she came from”, as luminaries like Mystery, Tyler, and Style used to proclaim. Apparently that’s not working out so well. You’re a lot better off approaching a small number of potentially interested women, instead of the PUA scattershot approach. The only exception is if you happen to live in a place with a high percentage of the population is itinerant. If this doesn’t apply to you, then you’re a lot better off realising that your city does not have all that many women you’re interested in. In fact, many “recovering PUAs” made the statement that they just never saw all the hordes of supposedly available women. Maybe it only takes 200 girls to not return your calls to come to this conclusion.

Lastly, if your choice is between PUA-style approaching, i.e. an incredibly low success rate and an absurd investment of time, versus making a lot of money, I’d take the second option any time of the week since it’s the smart choice, as it will give you many more options in life. If you don’t have money, you get women basically based on your looks, and because you don't fuck up the opportunities you're getting. Further, you keep them sticking around if you have a lot of spare time and a nice big cock. On the other hand, if you have money, and by “money” I don’t mean having a job but the kind of money that paying a few grand for bottle service at some expensive clubs every now and again doesn’t really bother you, you can just lean back and relax. They’ll just come to you. At that point, though, some men seem to prefer the honesty of escorts.

  2. There's a reason why this prison is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has ventured here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So easy... So simple... And like shipwrecked men turning to sea water from uncontrollable thirst, many have died trying. I learned here that there can be no true despair without hope. So, as I terrorize Gotham, I will feed its people hope to poison their souls. I will let them believe they can survive so that you can watch them clamoring over each other to stay in the sun. You can watch me torture an entire city and when you have truly understood the depth of your failure, we will fulfill Ra's al Ghul's destiny... We will destroy Gotham and then, when it is done and Gotham is ashes... then you have my permission to die.

  3. A little off-topic to this given post, but I just had to share. A little scienfic validation on the concept of going direct/fast if you're looking for a fling.

    http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-attraction-doctor/201409/the-science-pick-lines

Apparently scientists have confirmed what people around these parts have known for a while anecdotal... Being "sleazy" is a great way to filter for women who are into flings.

Basically if a woman gets offended by you moving fast/being too direct, she's looking for a provider, not a fling. As was commented before on an excellent post recently, there are laws being passed to make this illegal. We're coming back to neo-victorianism where it will be impossible to get to flings, only serious drawn out courtships, because oversensitive nimwits get offended at the prospect of a fling.

  4. Usually when a man finds himself in an extended period of involuntary celibacy, it is usually indicative of shortcomings in other areas of life. When this is the case, focus should be shifted fromkhis failings with women to overall self improvement. When enough "betterment" is obtained, pussy should come pouring in, which is just the cherry on top of the sense of being a more fulfilled man.

  5. It all depends on your value as a man. If you are an average man, scarcity is a way of life. If you're a hot guy, there's more abundance than you can handle. All you have to do is make two fake tinder accounts, one of an average(not bad looking) guy and one of a hot guy. I did this the results were stupifying. Not that I didn't already know the hot guy would get many more matches, but the sheer order of magnitude in difference really took me aback.

    1. Guys should never be described as "hot" by another man. That is a term guys use for women, or women use for men. Just say "good-looking" or even "handsome."
