Since I get a relatively high number of comments that are tangential to the articles, I'd like to try to move those parts of the conversation to the monthly 'Open Thread'.

In short, if you think anything you're going to write is "off topic" to the current post, but still related to pickup, women, gender politics and other topics I discuss on this blog, then please leave a comment to the most recent Open Thread, such like this one. Just post below.

Male/Female ratios in Europe

An anonymous reader posted a link to sex ratios in Europe. The data is from 2011, so it's not entirely up-to-date, but it is interesting nonetheless:

I am hardly an expert on the demographics of all European countries, but there are some observations and an explanation that is possibly generally valid. Note how East Germany suffers a deficit of women almost everywhere, with one exception: Berlin. The North of Sweden, a cold and dark place, is likewise missing women. Further, in England we see a situation not quite unlike Eastern Germany: women flock to the prosperous South East.

Despite my most recent article on Roosh, I don't intend to spend too much time on bashing PUAs. However, for a fresh take on that topic, check out Sonny's series "The PUA Industry Revealed". I particularly liked his post on in-field videos. Have a look around his site as well. It's geared towards younger guys, though, but if you dig around a bit you'll probably find a few posts you like.

Roosh is not as big a loser as the Daily Mail claims

I never thought that I would publicly defend Roosh, but this post will amount to at least a partial defense of him. What happened was that the Daily Mail recently posted a scathing article in which Roosh was ridiculed and depicted as a loser. Some people sent me gleeful emails pointing me to the Daily Mail article Not so cool now! Pro-rape pick-up artist pictured in a sweat-stained T-shirt at the door of his mother's home (where he lives in the BASEMENT!). Just look at it:

This article is nothing but a hatchet job, though. Let's just get one thing out of the way first: I don't know about Roosh's statements about legalizing rape. If he indeed wrote that it should be legal to rape women on private property, he may want to get his head checked. I do know that he wrote that he raped several women. Whether this is true is another story. It's quite possible that he only makes such statements in order to appeal to his sexually frustrated audience, and to gain notoriety.

Mass Migration, Divorce Courts, and the Systematic Subjugation of Betas (Part II)

In part I of this article we took a look at how 'betas'. in countries that are being flooded by unskilled illegal immigrants. are going to pay through the nose in order to ensure that the newly arrived and rapidly expanding minority will have their basic needs met. In fact, in many instances they are treated better than the natives. For instance, in Sweden they have the right to free dental care, which natives only have until they turn 18. In Germany they are financially better off than people living off welfare, and get other benefits on top, like free public transport. Just think of everything people were told that there was no money available for: health care, kindergartens, schools, universities, infrastructure, pensions. Yet, now all of a sudden Germany now apparently has billions available to shelter, clothe, and feed about one million illegal migrants who arrived in 2015, and the next million is expected to arrive this year.

"So what's the strategy here? Pretend you're not a nerd?"

This is a follow up to the post "Reader Question: How does a nerdy introvert meet hot women?", which led to a pretty good discussion. Unfortunately, my original suspicion only got reaffirmed, namely that the person asking this question is only looking for a quick fix. Instead of trying to change himself, so that people around him would react differently to him, he seems to have a hard time letting go of the idea that with a few cosmetic fixes all problems will be gone. This was perfectly captured in reader "smashthestate" asking,

"So what's the strategy here? Pretend you're not a nerd?"

Let that sink in for a moment, as it points toward a very fundamental issue.

Did anybody notice that the mainstream media loves to tell us that women well beyond their prime are hot?

Some of the topics I follow in the news, like jihadists killing yet another group of infidels, tend to lead me occasionally to sites like the Daily Mail. There, you get bombarded with "related links" that normally lead to gossip about celebrities, mixed up with acts of terrorism, rape, divorce scandals and whatever else floats the boat of your typical Daily Mail reader.

What I found remarkable, though, is that no matter how old a woman they do an article on is, she is always "gorgeous". This might be an adequate assessment if it's some 20 year-old air head. However, they don't change the wording even when they write on a woman in her 50s. For a case in point, look at the "impressive physique" of this 50-year old named Emma Forbes. It would presumably fall under "fair use" to paste a picture here, but I don't want to expose you to that material without warning. Keep in mind that the other links are even harder to stomach.
